Look after your equipment and it will look after you!
One of the most important things to bear in mind when purchasing your equipment is “How good is the service backup and Warranty?”. All dive equipment manufacturers offer a standard 1 year’s warranty, however, to ensure that this warranty remains valid they insist that the equipment is maintained by an Authorised Service Centre.
It is strongly recommended by the manufacturers that Regulators and BCDs are serviced every 100 dives or annually (whichever comes first). Here at Diveline, we have a team of technicians who have undergone factory approved training and are kept up to date with the latest developments and techniques.
We are an approved service centre in Ipswich for Oceanic and Scubapro and as such are authorised to carry out Warranty servicing and repairs for these manufacturers. We are also an accredited service centre for Apeks/Aqualung, Poseidon Mares and TUSA regulators.
CYLINDER TESTING
All cylinders are tested on-site in our workshop to IDEST Standards. Cylinders require a visual test 2.5 years from date of manufacture (stamped on cylinder).
Tested cylinders are stamped with the appropriate date. From this date the cylinder then requires a full hydrostatic test after further 2.5 years; this process is an ongoing cycle every 2.5 years.
A cylinder for surface use only (e.g., air rifle filling) only requires hydrostatic testing every 5 years. If you have any problem regarding dating cylinders or what test is need bring them into the shop and one of the technicians will be more than happy to help.
OXYGEN CLEAN
If a cylinder is to be used for Nitrox (Enriched Air) then the cylinder must be oxygen clean due to the gas blending process. This can be done at any time but is cheaper done at the time of test.
Once the cylinder has been oxygen cleaned it is oxygen standard and lasts for 15 months. The cylinder will have specific oxygen clean decals and contents stickers so that you can distinguish it from a normal air cylinder.
