We have a club that meets at the shop on Thursdays where members are entitled to free use of the pool to maintain their skills and arrange dive trips both here in the UK and foreign destinations. Club members are also entitled to discount on Dive Gear , Air Fills and further training courses.
The course is split into 2 segments. The pool and classroom ( AKA “ Confined Water) segment costs £245.00 which includes all training materials, equipment and pool time (*additional pool time can be arranged if required at a small charge). The Open Water element in the UK costs £285.00 which includes all gear hire, entry fees, air fills and PADI certification. To complete the OPEN WATER dives on one of our RED SEA Holidays £250.00 in addition to the basic holiday cost, and includes gear hire and certification for the duration of the course.
The course is run over 2 Saturdays and consists of pool and classroom sessions. At the end of this there is a Multiple Choice Quiz. Having successfully completed this confined water element, the next step is to demonstrate the skills learned in the pool in “Open Water”. This may be done either here in the UK or on one of our Red Sea Holidays.
We run these courses every other Saturday ( the course is conducted over 2 consecutive Saturdays ) We can also arrange bespoke courses to suit your busy schedule. All confined training is run at our onsite pool.
Generally speaking, if you can walk for 15 mins without becoming breathless and do not answer yes to any of the questions on the PADI Medical self certification form, then you are fit enough. If you do answer yes to any of the questions on the form then we can put you in touch with a specialist doctor who can advise further.
No, as long as you are comfortable in the water and can swim 200 mtrs and tread water for 10 mins you can start the open water course by the end of the course (we can help you atain this standard).
Kids can start at 8 years old on PADI Seal Teams which are pool activity sessions covering a number of topics. To start an Junior open water certification course 10 years old, An Adult open water certification course is 15 years and over.
